I got my my first DSLR a few months ago, I didn't know anything about it. I was bewildered with how different photographers got amazingly variable results from the same cameras , how the pros could make a very simple photograph to look like a work of art and how people actually made a fortune selling images...!! I was in a rut for a long time, because everytime I wanted to learn something new, I had to go through the agony of a google search(this part was not the agony!), followed by scrutiny for the information I actually wanted! Then once I was done with the basics, and moving to the economics, i had to browse through thousands of articles which looked like greek and latin to Me! The big bold 'SEO' ads everywhere, uninfomative 'stubs' and popup windows with practically nothing but ads on them.. And alot more! It practically took me a much more time to learn than it should've.

Today its no different, and I still spend many hours looking up articles of interest from the big pile of unwanted crap(not that its bad, just not useful to me)!

So thats what i'll be doing for you, provide you with articles, both self written, and by experts from all over the world, regarding photography, in its true sense, from aperture basics to advanced editing and monetizing your work with microstock and others. I hope you all benefit from the database present here, which I will keep updating on a daily basis. Also, keeping in mind the "art" aspect of photography, which is of utmost value, i'll be posting a self clicked picture every now and then, fully detailed with aperture, ISO, shutter speed, lens used, camera used as well as the non technical details and the "story" behind the picture.

I also encourage you to mail in your pictures, which I'll publish here, open to review by all the photographers on YCC.
